Custom Address Stamps

by Emma / September 22, 2011 / 4 comments

I am obsessed with these custom address stamps from Etsy shop NoteTrunk.

They’re gorgeous.

Get a clean cut look for business correspondence, or a more flowery version for personal letters. A custom stamp would also be an amazing gift for a newly married couple, for your parents, friends… anyone, really.

The prices are extremely reasonable as well — just over $20 for a custom stamp.

Some great jewelry makers have set up shop on Etsy — with pieces ranging from trendy to timeless. You can get some great styles for not a lot of dough. Plus, by purchasing on Etsy you’re supporting independent designers.

Why am I comparing to J.Crew? Because I love their jewelry. But it’s just too darn expensive!

Update: tyrowild (maker of two pieces below) is offering Jane Has A Job readers a 10% discount. Just mention that you heard about the shop here!

Addison Bracelet, $30

Similar to this J.Crew bracelet retailing for $95, the Addison bracelet from tyrowild has an heirloom look.

Eva Necklace, $25

A modern version of classic pearls. (Compare with this J.Crew necklace for $45.) Also from tyrowild, you can actually pick which color pearls you’d like in the necklace.

Simple Feather Locket, $38

A beautiful, simple locket (from verabel, who makes the most beautiful lockets I’ve ever seen). Compare to J.Crew’s plain $50 locket.

Bright Multi-Chains Necklace, $14

From sophiedear, this delicate chain necklace is a much more affordable version of this J.Crew necklace for $48.

Weekly Wind Down: January 21, 2011

Last night I attended my first book club discussion, on Cleopatra: A Life, by Stacy Schiff. It was so much fun! We had a great conversation about Cleopatra’s portrayal throughout history as a vixen, which segued into a discussion of whether powerful women today can display a sensual, feminine side while maintaining their stature. Some names we tossed around were Hilary Clinton, Sarah Palin, Michelle Obama, and even Queen Elizabeth I. Interesting!

Tops Totes

Tops Totes

I often grab a tote when I need to carry something out of the ordinary and don’t want to stuff it into my purse. Things like gym clothes (truly out of the ordinary these days), retail returns, bottle of wine, extra pair of shoes. As long as you don’t carry them around all day, totes are perfectly acceptable for transporting things back and forth on your work commute. I like to sport this local Love Philadelphia tote, but here are some more great options.

Most are inexpensive; grab a few and rotate!

Fit for a Queen

LOVE this handmade dress from the ohreallybecky etsy shop. The pairing of navy blue and grey is so of-the-moment, and it’s a beautiful piece to wear to work. I also love the Elizabethan-esque collar. It comes in small, medium, and large and is priced at $185. I want this dress so badly! Check out Becky’s other pieces too — she’s a real talent.

More pictures after the jump.

Keeping a Growing Small Business Hands On

Inc. Magazine is profiling a variety of successful start-ups, from a gourmet ice cream truck company to an organic dog food business.

I was thrilled to see that an artist I’ve always admired, Ashley Goldberg, made the cut with the art shop she co-founded with her boyfriend, Drew Bell: Ashley G and Drew. I was also really interested to read her business philosophy.
